Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians

Hi! My name is Allyson and I joined the Hanging Rock family in 2008. The two hats I wear while at the office are Practice Manager and Licensed Veterinary Technician. I’ve worked in the veterinary field since 1997 and have a degree from Blue Ridge Community College. My interests in veterinary medicine include behavior, client communications and nutrition. Outside of work, I spend my spare time on search and rescue work with my dog. I am also licensed as a wildlife rehabilitator by the state of Virginia and the Federal Government. My family includes Jeff, my husband, as well as Sampson, Sid, Emily, and Pete, our beloved pets.

Ashley has worked at Hanging Rock since 2008. She received her Veterinary Technician License in 2017. She has 4 dogs and 2 cats; all but one of which were Hanging Rock Rescues. Reese a Chocolate Lab, Pepper a Shepherd mix, Krikit a Lab mix, and Brennan a Pitbull mix all enjoy the company of Posse and Vinny the Domestic Shorthairs. She married her high school sweetheart and they have been together since 2005. She loves working with all kinds of animals and is potentially considering attending Vet School in the future.

Keri joined the Hanging Rock team in 2007. She received her veterinary technician license in 2018. Congratulations on all the hard work!

Andrew is originally from South Africa and has been with Hanging Rock since April 2013. He is studying to be a veterinary technician. He enjoys working with animals of all kinds, but especially dogs. He has an Australian Shepherd named Sam Houston and a cat named Apollo.

Dawn's love of animals started at a very young age with many pets and horses. She began her animal medicine career in 1986, working with creatures from small animals to wildlife to exotics. She has two children, dogs, a cat and a ferret. She loves to support her children in their passions and hobbies, and also enjoys horseback riding and baseball.

I have worked at HRAH as a CSR since 2002. I have been blessed to work with such great people. I enjoy helping the clients and their pets each and every day. I have a cat named Wahoo who I acquired while at HRAH. I married my high school sweetheart in 2003 and have 2 beautiful children, Derek and Kayla. I love spending time with my family and friends.

Hi, my name is Michelle. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Chad, and we have a wonderful son, Joshua, a daughter-in-law, Ashley and a daughter, Hannah. I also have six furry children: three dogs and three cats. My animals make my family complete, and I feel very blessed to have Nacho, Cooper, Scarlett Rose, Tommy, Tahlia and Truly in my life.

Penny has worked in the veterinary field for 15 years. She has 3 dogs and 1 cat, but is pretty sure it should be the other way around, as she is the "cat person" at HRAH. Emma, Jasper and Bindy love their little kitty, Mimi. Penny is committed to providing positive interactions and a fear free experience to clients and patients. She has lived in Virginia, with her husband since 2015, and enjoys her position as a Customer Service Team Leader.

Amanda has loved animals for as long as she can remember! At age 4, she started riding horses, and her love for them has never stopped! When she was old enough to work, she started working at horse farms and pet stores. Almost 20 years ago, she started working in the veterinary field. She is married and has 3 children, ages 6 to 11, 3 cats, a Pitbull named Erzsébet and a Blue Heeler named Bunta! Aside from riding horses, she also enjoys reading, camping, hiking, backyard chickens, gardening and hanging out with family.
