Hanging Rock Animal Hospital is the BEST in the Roanoke Valley. Dr. Honeycutt and "Dr. Todd" are knowledgeable amazing vets. Their entire staff are caring compassionate people who take their time to know all of the animals and humans that walk through their door. I would and have recommended Hanging Rock Animal Hospital to everyone.

Would very highly recommend this animal hospital, as both ladies working at the desk, as well as the doctor (Ashley I believe) were all so sweet and helpful! Thank you!

I've been very happy with the care here. The vets have been thorough, the staff friendly, and the hospital is overall very professional. They have temperature monitoring in place for medication. Allyson, the practice manager, has been supportive, and phenomenal in providing information and accommodating requests. Highly recommend!

Dr. Cynthia L. Honeycutt
Dr. Honeycutt attended Virginia Tech for both undergraduate and veterinary school. She knew she wanted to stay in the beautiful mountains of Virginia and after working in several different practices, she and her husband, Adam, opened Hanging Rock Animal Hospital in 1996 with the mission to treat each patient as they wanted their own pets to be treated. She is committed to progressive medicine where each patient is an individual and clients are partners in their pet’s health care. She especially enjoys working with senior and geriatric patients to improve their quality of life, working with clients to improve their pet’s health through nutrition and orthopedics. In her free time, she likes to bike with her husband and two sons. She also enjoys long walks with their two dogs and reading. The three family cats enjoy keeping the dogs in line.
Dr. Todd Czarnecki
‘Dr. Todd’, as he is known, graduated from UC Davis Vet school in 1992. He moved to southwest Virginia in 2007 after he and his wife, Toni, fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains. They live in Blacksburg with their 3 dogs and 2 cats. Favorite past times include mountain biking, hiking, reading, cooking and eating good food and good music.
Dr. Todd, a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, enjoys an integrative approach utilizing the very best of modern medicine in combination with homeopathy, acupuncture, herbs and nutrition. He feels lucky to spend time with each unique pet and the people that love them.
Dr. Matt Parker
Dr. Parker grew up in Roanoke and has practiced veterinary medicine since 2009. After several years in different areas outside of Virginia, his family and the beautiful mountains of Roanoke called him home in 2016. In his career, he realized that many problems that go unexplained by conventional Western medicine are able to be understood and treated by traditional Chinese medicine and other holistic approaches. Dr. Parker’s interest in traditional Chinese medicine drove him to become a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist through the Chi Institute in Florida. He then become a Certified Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner through the Integrative Veterinary Medicine Institute in 2016.
Dr. Parker is pleased to be at Hanging Rock Animal Hospital where he’s able to practice a wide array of holistic principles while also performing all aspects of Western general practice such as surgery, X-rays, and judicious individualized use of vaccinations and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Parker looks forward to making our Roanoke Valley pets healthier, contribute to his hometown economy, be near family, and go for long runs in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains!
