For our established patients, Hanging Rock Animal Hospital now offers Veterinary Telemedicine by providing remote access to care for our patients by means of video or phone chat. Not only is this service offered for the convenience of our clients, but also for those that are unable to physically get to our veterinary hospital or for those patients that are too sick or anxious to travel.

Before your Telemedicine appointment your veterinarian will gather information from your pet’s medical history for a better understanding of your pet’s health. During the call your veterinarian will be able to discuss any questions and concerns you may have. They may ask you to provide photos or videos of your pet to help with diagnosis.

Telemedicine may not be appropriate for every concern but may be used for follow up or palliative care or to monitor existing patients. This service may also be helpful for the doctor to be able to observe your pet in their home setting, especially when their behavior changes once they are in the hospital.

Our hospital has embraced these virtual care visits with the hope that we can provide health care to animals that otherwise may not be able to receive it.
